Georgia - No Longer on My Mind

Crossed over another state line today.  We're now in South Carolina.  Not much new to report.  Same stellar weather, same rural scenery, same quiet roads, same loose dogs, etc. etc.

New crop sighting today; not sure what it is.

Typical of the better rural homes:

Crossed the Savannah River into South Carolina.  No sign to welcome us, so we had to settle for the river crossing photo.

Typical scenery.......  forests and swamps.

Sunday morning, and all the church parking lots were full.  Most churches in this part of the country are Baptist churches.

Who names things down here anyway?  The Coosawhatchie River....

It was another easy ride today.  114km from Statesboro GA to Point South SC, and we were still in shortly after noon.  Under 1000 feet of climbing, under 1000 calories burned.  Temps from 11C to 29C.  Rest day in Point South tomorrow. Absolutely nothing to do here so I think it will be truly a rest day.

Cum stats after 11 days of riding....
1118 km
9535 feet of uphill
9572 feet of downhill

  1. Sue, not sure about your stats... how can you have more ft downhill than uphill when you are basically at sea level...?

Wow, though! over 100km/day that's great! Keep those dogs at bay, and hopefully continue avoiding your fellow riders. Keep the pics coming -- love them!

    1. Good question; don't know. I guess GPS ain't perfect. It is also saying that we're currently at -30 feet and we're not underwater.
